Obituary

Donna Cox Smith, 64, of Sugar Valley, died Sunday, February 4, 2018 at her home, following fourteen months of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on July 29, 1953, daughter of the late Robert and Walter Nell Davis Cox.
Donna was a homemaker, and a member of Sugar Valley Baptist Church.
She leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Roy Smith; her sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Tara Smith, and Craig and Shae Smith, all of Calhoun; a brother, Robert (Bobby) Cox; sisters and brother-in-law, Beverly and Michael Holland, Annette Moss, and Brenda Reed, all of Calhoun; grandchildren, Brooke Smith, Hannah Smith, Haley Smith, and Jocelyn Smith; and step-grandchildren, Madyson Patterson, Makensey Patterson, and Kelson Patterson.
Services to honor the life of Donna Cox Smith will be held Thursday, February 8th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Dwaine Shadix and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. A eulogy will be given by Beverly Holland. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers serving will include Mike Holland, Jr., Kenny Moss, Kyle Roberts, Chris Roberts, Stetson Welch, and Jeff Postell.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 7th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
