Obituary

Donna Jean McCloskey Nichols, 81, 0f Calhoun, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022, after one year of declining health.
Mrs. Nichols was born in Chillicothe, OH, on July 20, 1941, the daughter of the late Harold and Rita Porter McCloskey. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always a hard worker, and prior to retirement, she did custodial work. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Velon; sisters, Louise (Harold) Curtis, Anna Belle (Francis) Ramsey, and Geraldine McCloskey; brothers, Jack (Dorothy) McCloskey, Jim (Imogene) McCloskey, Charles (Geneva) McCloskey, John McCloskey and Dewey McCloskey.
Survivors include her daughters, Alice (Mike) Reece and Kim (Stacy) Alred; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Carol McCloskey; grandchildren, Cassie Reece Mazloom, Michael B. Reece, Jimmy Reece, Colin Nichols, Colleen Nichols, Kaleb Harris, and Karigan Kilgore; great-grandchildren, Alaina Reece, Lauren Reece, Mallie Reece, Jessa Reece, Addy Reece, Lane Reece, Ava Kilgore, Elijah Nichols, and Ethan Nichol; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Donna Jean McCloskey Nichols will be held on Friday, September 2nd at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include, Michael B. Reece, Jimmy O. Reece, Brian Kaleb Harris, Mike Velon, Josh Kilgore, and Lee Simerly.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 1st, between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The family requests that masks be worn during the visitation and service.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family.
