Doris Ann Barfield

Mrs. Doris Ann Barfield, age 45 of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Gordon Hospital.

Mrs. Barfield was born in Tennessee on January 31, 1963, daughter of Nell Walker Cooper and the late Macky Cooper. Being a homemaker, she loved to cook for her family, friends and church family. She was an active member of the World Harvest Church of Calhoun where she served as Nursery and Pre-school Director, and was the cornerstone for the outreach programs.

Mrs. Barfield is survived by her husband, Lee Harold Barfield, to whom she was married for 27 years; two daughters, Crissy Barfield and Sarah Barfield; and one son, James Barfield, all of the residence; mother, Nell Parker; one sister, Sherry Ingle of Calhoun; three brothers, David Cooper of Blue Ridge, Gary Cooper of Taylorsville, and Doug Cooper of Marietta. Her father-in-law; Davis Barfield, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Ann Barfield will be conducted Saturday, at 2:00pm from the Calhoun World Harvest Church, with Pastor Rusty Hardon, Bishop Lance Johnson and Ron Ingle officiating. Mrs. Barfield will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service. Pallbearers serving will include Davis Barfield, Allen Barfield, Tim Jones, Billy Carr and Rodney Martin. Interment will follow the service at the Old Nazareth Baptist Church Cemetery near Centre, Alabama. The family will begin receiving friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Friday evening, after 4:30pm.
