Doris Elizabeth Hardy

Mrs. Doris Elizabeth Hardy, age 78 of Calhoun, formerly of Miami, Florida, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010.

Born on April 16, 1932 in Black Mountain, NC to the late Millard and Lena Ingram Jones, she was an active member of Calhoun First United Methodist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother and five sisters.

Doris loved her family dearly, was a terrific cook, and enjoyed playing golf. She especially enjoyed family gatherings during the holidays, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, David Hardy; three sons and daughters-in-law, Matt and Betty Hardy of Miami, Florida, Don and Rennie Hardy of Marietta, and Mike and Donita Hardy of Cumming; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and David Moyer of Calhoun; and grandchildren, Glenn Moyer, Tara Hardy, Stephanie Moyer, Gregory Moyer, Cory Hardy, Timothy Hardy, Creighton Hardy, Tatum Hardy, and Rachel Hardy.

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Elizabeth Hardy will be conducted Thursday, November 11th at 1:00pm from the Calhoun First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Brian Clark officiating. Active pallbearers will include Michael Hardy, Donald Hardy, Matthew Hardy, and David Moyer. Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers and include Glenn Moyer, Gregory Moyer, Cory Hardy, Timothy Hardy, and Creighton Hardy.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
