Mrs. Doris King Freeman, age 77 of Adairsville, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 at Hamilton Medical Center. She was born in Maupau, Louisiana on January 26, 1931, daughter of the late William Decatur and Dolly Barbara Smith King. Mrs. Freeman was a homemaker during her lifetime, and was of the Church of God of Prophecy faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters; Clifton King, Alvin King, Clayton King, Clyde King, Bernice Coccerham, and Mildred Lee.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, James Roy Freeman; sons, Mike Freeman and his wife Glenda of Adairsville, Randy Freeman and his wife Liz of White Sands, Mississippi, Henry Freeman and his wife Kim of Cartersville, and Tim Freeman and Thomas Freeman, both of Chatsworth; a daughter, Janice Davenport of Chatsworth; brothers, David and Bobby King, and a sister, Eva Walker, all of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Ten grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Doris King Freeman will be conducted Thursday, June 19, at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. George Adams and Rev. Keith McManus officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will include Austin Davenport, Henry Freeman, Jr., Christopher Freeman, Scott Freeman, Marty Webb, and Steven Webb. Michael Freeman, Jr. will serve as honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
