Doris Marie Pierce

Mrs. Doris Marie Pierce Lee, age 67, of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Gordon Hospital. She was born in Fairmount, Georgia on May 18, 1940, daughter of the late M.T. Chastain and Molly Craig Chastain. Mrs. Lee was retired from the textile industry and was a member of the House of Prayer Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 5 years, Roland David Lee; her mother, Molly Chastain of Fairmount; six sons; Rickey Pierce, Rodney Pierce, Ritchie Pierce and his wife Melinda, Randy Pierce and his wife Brenda, Mike Battles, and Bobby Collins, all of Calhoun; four daughters; Gail Bramlett and her husband Larry, Connie Smith and her husband Raymond, Pamela Puckett and her husband Keith, and Lisa Dudley, all of Calhoun; three brothers; Stephen Chastain, Daniel Chastain, and Boyd Chastain; and three sisters; Patsy Winkle, Elaine Fowler, and Wylene Young, all of Fairmount. Eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Lee will be conducted Wednesday, August 8 at 11:00am from the Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church, with Rev. Andrew Campbell, Rev. Jeff Dutton, and Rev. Gene Clark officiating. Singing will be arranged by Mrs. Faye Bentley. Interment will follow in the Ryo Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Darrell Smith, Hershel Pierce, Roy Pierce, Virgil Pierce, Max Mulkey, Ellis Payne, Richard Bowen, Shawn Nation, John Clark, Chris Clark, and Jason Chastain. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the House of Prayer Baptist Church Wednesday at 10:00am. Mrs. Lee will lie in state at the House of Prayer Baptist Church beginning Monday at 5:00pm.
