Dorothy "Dot" Elizabeth Diprima

Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Elizabeth DiPrima, 84 of Calhoun, died Thursday, September 10, 2015 at her home. She was born in Rome, GA on March 8, 1931, daughter of the late Jesse Holt Penney and the late Olline Salmon Penney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years on March 27, 2014, Lewis DiPrima; six brothers; and three sisters.

Mrs. DiPrima worked alongside her husband in the shoe business, opening a group of retail stores that continue today. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David and Ruth DiPrima of Atlanta; her daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Phil Sloan, and Susan and Bill Elphingstone, all of Calhoun, and Maria and Barry Holbert of Fairmount; sisters, Glenda Sloan and Chiquita Roberson; grandchildren, Brett Sloan, Robin Proffitt, Michael DiPrima, Josh Holbert, Scott Elphingstone, Caleb Holbert, Joseph Elphingstone, and Katie Holbert; and great-grandchildren, Sloan Proffitt, Sophia Proffitt, Ellie Holbert, Reagan DiPrima, and Davis DiPrima.

A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Elizabeth DiPrima will be held Sunday, September 13th, at 4:00 PM from St. Clements Catholic Church, with Father Joseph Shaute officiating. Music will be arranged by Bud and Vickie Owens. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, and will include Brett Sloan, Michael DiPrima, Josh Holbert, Scott Elphingstone, Caleb Holbert, Brian Proffitt, and Joseph Elphingstone.

The DiPrima family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday, September 13th from 1:00 PM until 3:30 PM.
