Dorothy Eloise Kinsey

Mrs. Dorothy Eloise Kinsey, age 86, of Calhoun, passed away December 20th, 2006, at Gordon Heath Care following several years of declining health. She was born December 30th, 1919, in Bartow County, daughter of the late William Mac and Bessie Elizabeth Granger Jackson. Mrs. Kinsey was retired from Georgia Textile, and was a member of Barrett Road Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Jerry Kinsey, a daughter, Bonnie Moss, and a brother, Benjamin Jackson.

Survivors include two sons; Robert Kinsey and his wife Lynn, and Danny Kinsey and his wife Frankie, both of Calhoun. Two daughters; Jerrie Fite of Calhoun, and Martha Cloer of Adairsville. Three brothers; William "Bill" Jackson, of Atlanta, Alton Jackson of Brooks, Georgia, and Walter Jackson of Texas. Four sisters; Catherine Crane of Texas, Clodessa Bradley of Tennessee, Velma Couch of Jackson, Georgia, and Shirley Bagley of Gay, Georgia. Eighteen grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 28 great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Kinsey will be conducted on Saturday, December 23, at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Norris Sexton and Dr. Stephen Pearson officiating. Interment will follow in the Oothcalooga Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Derrick Kinsey, Jason English, Brandon Kinsey, Chris Peardon, Paul Carroll, and Michael Johns. Honorary pallbearers will include Alton Jackson, Jody Johns, and Michael Fuller. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday between the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm.
