Mrs. Dorothy Faye Davis, age 70 of the Hill City Community, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Gordon Hospital, following five years of declining health.

Mrs. Davis was born on March 16, 1937 in Harden, Tennessee, daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Myrtle Wall Hill. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Judy Mann, a stepdaughter, Jennifer Lee Davis; sisters; Nellie Viola Hubert, Dean Reedes, Ruthie Christine Haggard, Betty Marie Hill and one brother, William Paul Hill. Before ill health forced her retirement, she was employed as a Dietician for Calhoun Health Care Center.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, James (Jim) Davis, to whom she was married for forty years; two daughters; Dorothy Jean Siffles and her husband, Hollis, and Shirley Kutas and her husband Steven, all of Summerville; two sons; Billy Mann and his wife Rhoda of Plainville, and James Mann and his wife Beverly of Calhoun; three stepdaughters; Elizabeth Marie Davis, Cecelia June Davis and Catherine Lynn Davis all of Ashburn, Georgia; three sisters; Leola Brown of Summerville, Molly Jones of Lafayette, and Naomi Ray of Chatsworth; one brother; William Joe Hill of Summerville; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Faye Davis will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Tate and Rev. Stephen Pearson officiating. Singing will be arranged by Mrs. Faye Bentley and Mr. Randy Seabolt. Active pallbearers serving will include Keith Gentry, Christopher Gentry, Brent Mann, Aaron Mann, Coty Siffles and Ryan Siffles. Honorary pallbearers serving will include Stephanie Mann, Lamar Siffles, Roger Siffles, Brandon Siffles, Roger Siffles, Jr, Isaiah Siffles, Mason Mann, Kaylee Brock and Renee Wood. They are requested to meet at the funeral home Friday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow the services at the family cemetery. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Thursday evening during the hours of 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
