Mrs. Dorothy Goss Woodall age 90, of Calhoun, passed away Saturday September 4, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Gordon County on May 27, 1920, daughter of the late Ben Goss and the late Mattie Cochran Goss. She was the oldest member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Woodall was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert "Skin" Woodall; two sons, Jerry Woodall and Ronald Woodall; and four sisters, Bertha Bennett, Stella Mae Long, Frances Landress and Willene Knox.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Crawford of Calhoun; three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Delores Woodall of Loganville, GA, Larry and Marcell Woodall of Calhoun, and Eddie Woodall; a sister, Allene Charles of Calhoun; a sister-in-law, Ora Lang of Calhoun; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Woodall of Calhoun; seven grandchildren, Pamela Wilson, Cindy Zimmerman, Tonya Baker, Tammy Foley, Gena Kirby, Lori Woodall and Melissa Brannon; and twelve great-grandchildren, Tyler Wilson, Kayla Stanton, Karly Zimmerman, Jake Baker, Garison Baker, Joanna Foley, Rebecca Foley, Alex Kirby, Chase Kirby, Callie Walraven, Anna Brannon and Jenna Brannon. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Goss Woodall will be conducted Monday September 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Darris Baker and Rev. Andy Witt officiating. Burial will follow in the Gaines Cemetery. Music will be arranged by Dottie Baker and Donna Couch. Active pallbearers serving will include Richard Greeson, Ray Landress, Ted Bennett, Greg Landress, Derek Reece and Alex Kirby. Honorary pallbearers will include Gary Fuquea, Jan Greeson and Eddie Couch.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Sunday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
