Dorothy Holland

Mrs. Dorothy Holland, age 90 of Calhoun, departed this life to go to her heavenly home Friday, February 4, 2011 at Gordon Health Care following several years of declining health. She was born in Maine on November 5, 1920, daughter of the late Guy and Rosie Turner. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Eugene Holland.

Mrs. Holland was retired from the textile industry, and was a member of the New Town Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Stan and Jerry Holland, Robbie and Lynne Holland, and Terry and Melodie Holland; and a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Lynn Harkins. Grandchildren surviving are Alton Collie, Richard Holland, Jennifer Harkins, and Stephanie Holland; and a great-grandchild, Justin Collie. Other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Holland will be conducted Monday, February 7th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will include Richard Holland, Alton Collie, Alvin Hale, Charlie Nelson, Justin Nelson, and Clayton Nelson.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday after 5:00pm.
