Dorothy J. Evans

Mrs. Dorothy J. Evans age 55 of Resaca, Georgia passed away Monday August 7, 2006 at Gordon Hospital following several months of declining health.

Mrs. Evans was born in Floyd County on October 5, 1950 daughter of Myrtle Langley Powers, and the late Andrew Todd of Calhoun, and had lived in Gordon County during her lifetime. She was a member of St. Clements Catholic Church. Besides her father she was preceded in death by two children, David Evans and Sabrina Nation.

Survivors include her husband, Winston Evans to whom she was married for thirty-nine years. One son, Scott Evans of Calhoun and two daughters, Bernadette Walraven and Debra Dickhaus both of Calhoun. Three sisters; Patricia Langley, Martha Chamlee and Debra Powers all of Calhoun. Six grandchildren; Dorothy Evans, Brantley Nation, Natalie Nation, David Walraven, Jamison Dickhaus and Ben Nation all of Calhoun.

Funeral Mass for Mrs. Dorothy Evans will be conducted Friday, August 11, at 11:00am at the St. Clements Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Cooper Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Gary M. Chamlee, Randy Wheat, Mike Schallo, Brian Nation, Jeremy Dickhaus, and Bryan Walraven. Honorary Pallbearers serving will include; Gary W. Chamlee, James Weaver, and Kokomo Charles Guyton.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, August 10, after 2:00pm.
