Dorothy Mae Haynes

Mrs. Dorothy Mae "Dot" Haynes, age 82 of Calhoun, GA passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at her residence following several years declining health. She was born in Bridgeport, AL on December 19, 1930, daughter of the late Herschel and Irene Phillips Cookson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Clifford E. Haynes of Chattanooga, TN; and two sisters, Ann Zellers and Faye Kellett, both of Rockford, IL.

She leaves behind her husband of 66 years, Walter Clifford Haynes; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Nell Haynes of Calhoun, and Edd and Judy Haynes of Hiram; and a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dwight Cowart of Douglasville. Grandchildren surviving are Jessica Haynes, William Haynes, Heather Casey, Andy Haynes, Eric Cowart, Amanda Langley, Sally Haynes, Christy Haynes, and Shane Kirby. Ten great-grandchildren and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Dorothy Mae "Dot" Haynes will be held Tuesday, November 12th at 12:00 noon from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Greg Cowart officiating. Interment will follow in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN at 3:00 PM (EST), with Rev. Eddie Brannon conducting the committal service. Active pallbearers will include Andy Haynes, Paul Casey, Eric Cowart, Matt Langley, Colin Farrell, and Lebron Haynes.

The Haynes family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the service hour of 12:00 noon.
