Obituary

Dorothy Stanley, 80, of Calhoun, died Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Erlanger Hospital. She was born in Bartow County on February 15, 1939, daughter of the late L.W. and Mary Stewart Boswell Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lewis Boswell Jr.
Dorothy enjoyed sewing, having yard sales, working in the flower garden, and really enjoyed being around family and friends. She was a member of Oothcalooga Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Charlie Stanley; a nephew, Billy Boswell and his wife Jane; great nephew and niece, William and Sarah Boswell; great-great nieces, Ruby Peyton, and Layla Boswell; great-great nephew, Liam Boswell; great niece, Kim Worley; great nephew, Terry Worley; and great-great nephews, Warren Worley, Eli Worley, and Matthew Jones..
Services to honor the life of Dorothy Stanley will be held Wednesday, June 19th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Dwaine Shadix, Rev. Gary Hibberts, and Rev. Michael Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 18th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
