Doug Gray

Mr. William Douglas Gray, age 58 of Fairmount, GA died Monday, September 2, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Louisa, KY on June 3, 1955, son of William J. (Bill) Gray and the late Nell Ruth Gray. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by brothers, Delbert Gray, Phillip Gray, and Robert Gray.

Mr. Gray was employed by the State of Georgia as a Law Enforcement Officer, Motor Carrier Compliance, for 26 years, and retired as a Sergeant. He was a Post Certified Police Officer, and was nominated for the Governor's Service Award. He was a member of Plainview Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Debra Suzanne Crider Gray of the residence; a son, Aaron Gray of Fairmount; his father, William J. (Bill) Gray of Calhoun; a brother, Rev. George Gray of Calhoun; sisters-in-law, Debbie Jolly Gray and Sheila Gray, both of Calhoun; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Brigitta Crider; brother-in-law, Steve Crider and family; sister-in-law, Diane Almand and family; brother-in-law, David Crider and family; sister-in-law, Andrea Owen and family; and brother-in-law, John Lufkin and family. Eight nieces, twelve nephews, and ten great-nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. William Douglas Gray will be held Thursday, September 5th at 4:00 PM from the Plainview Baptist Church, with Rev. Donnie Sutton and Rev. Mark Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Gray's body will lie in state at the church from 3:00 PM until the funeral hour of 4:00 PM. Active pallbearers will include members of the GA. Motor Carrier Enforcement Division and honorary pallbearers include David Gray, Chandler Gray, Zachery Gray, Andrew Gray, Charles Gray, Cord Crider, and Josh Gray.

The Gray family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
