Dudley Kenon Dilbeck

Mr. Dudley Kenon Dilbeck, age 75 of the Plainview Community, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Gordon County on September 13, 1933, son of the late Emory and Ioma Ruddell Dilbeck.

Mr. Dilbeck was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Williams and Estelle Reeves; two brothers, Loyd and Lewis Dilbeck; and by two brothers-in-law, Grady Reeves and J.B. Williams.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Betty Mealer Dilbeck; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Juanita and Charlie Cox of Taylorsville, Gerri and Ray Hammond of Newnan, and Shirley and Larry Greeson of Adairsville; a sister-in-law, Lucy Dilbeck of Calhoun; one aunt, Rosa Patterson of Calhoun; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Dudley Kenon Dilbeck will be conducted Friday, January 9, 2009 at 2:00p.m. from the Plainview Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry Hibberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Dilbeck will lie in state at the church on Friday from 1:00p.m. until 2:00p.m. Active pallbearers serving will include Kenneth Williams, Danny Mealer, Mike Mealer, Barry Nicholson, Matthew Hibberts and Mike Hicks. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Allen, Ralph Wallin, Buck Baker, M.L. Dale, Earl Dutton and Horace Woodard. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the church on Friday at 1:30p.m. The family will begin receiving friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, after 5:00p.m.
