Dustin Bailey Dockrey, known by his friends as "Saw Mill", age 28 of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009 from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born on May 28, 1981 in Whitfield County, son of Rick Dockrey and Linda Kirby Bridges. Dustin was a member of the class of 2000 at Gordon Central High School, and was employed as a driver with Southeastern Freight.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Dee Dockrey in 1997, and a grandfather, Raymond Kirby in 2000.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, Rick and Rodna Dockrey; his mother, Linda Kirby Bridges; two brothers, Ritchie Dockrey, and Jeremy England and his wife Jennifer; and grandparents, Charlie and Doris Dockrey and Katie Kirby, all of Calhoun, and Dot Cash of Adairsville. Aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Dustin Bailey Dockrey will be conducted Thursday, August 27 at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. William Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery at Cherry Log in Gilmer County, with Rev. David Ray conducting the graveside services. Active pallbearers will include Todd Bone, Scott Bone, David Crosby, Bradley Brown, Kevin Black, and Kelly Mashburn. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home Thursday at 10:15am. Honorary pallbearers will be Kelly Hensley and Brandon Brown.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
