Mr. Dwyatte York, age 66 of Plainville, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. York was born on January 29, 1943 in Gordon County, son of the late Carlton Earl York and Edna Pauline Brown York. During his lifetime he served his country with the United States Army, and was employed by the Georgia Department of Transportation as an Engineer. He was a member of the Plainville Lodge F & AM, and the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mr. York is survived by his wife, Linda Hayes York, to whom he was married for 38 years; a son, Stuart York, and his special friend, Misty Jones and her children, Savannah and Ethan; his mother-in-law, Betty Stewart of Calhoun, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Dwyatte York will be conducted Tuesday at 3:00pm from the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Andy Witt officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, with Rev. Larry Naylor conducting the committal services. Pallbearers serving will include Keith Braden, Riley Jackson, Fain York, Terry Wright, Wayne Swinford and Jason Barnette. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Monday, during the hours of 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
