Mr. Earnest Eugene Hall, age 78 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at his residence following a year of declining health. He was born in Gordon County on May 17, 1931, son of the late Paul and Cynthia Martin Hall. Mr. Hall was retired from the textile industry, and was of the Church of God faith. He was a veteran, having served his country in the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Hall and Darnel Hall.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Joann Holland Hall; a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and David Bowling; a step-son, Greg Thomason of Calhoun; three step-daughters, Sheryll Mitzner of Canton, Terri Banks of Calhoun, and Connie Silvers and her husband Tommy of Calhoun; grandchildren, Angela Hall, Derrick and Keith Cochran, and David Bowling, Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Lillian Bowling, Ashlyn Cochran, and Carle Cochran. A niece, Deborah Thomas, and a nephew, Tim Hall, also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Earnest Eugene Hall will be conducted Saturday, February 20th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Calvin Anderson officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Damascus Cemetery, with military honors provided. Active pallbearers will include Tommy Silvers, David Bowling, Dustin Silvers, Ryan Silvers, Greg Thomason, and Keith Cochran.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 9:00am until 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
