Ed Hancock

Mr. Thomas Edward "Ed" Hancock, age 75 of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Alabama on May 7, 1936, son of the late Thomas Frank and Fannie Lou Young Hancock. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, J.W. "Bud" Hancock and Howard Hancock.

Mr. Hancock was a veteran, serving his country in the US Army, and had been employed by the Georgia Department of Transportation as a Supervisor. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, Elks Club, and Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Ann Bynum Hancock; three sons, Tommy Hancock and Timmy Hancock, both of Fairmount, and Danny Watson of Calhoun; three daughters, Sheila Hancock and Deronda Hancock, both of Fairmount, and Kimberly Watson of Calhoun; and a sister, Lois Stone of Pickens County, GA. Ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Hancock's body will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held Friday, February 24th at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 11:00am until the service hour of 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Hancock family to assist them with expenses.
