Mr. Eddie Black, age 55 of Calhoun, died Friday, December 5, 2008 in Gordon Health Care following an extended illness.
Eddie was born in Gordon County on June 25th, 1953, son of the late Edgbert and Odessa Moreland Black. He was a lifelong resident of Gordon County, and had served with the Georgia National Guard. He had previously been employed as a meat processor for several years with Lovinggood Meats, Winn Dixie, and Piggly Wiggly.
Mr. Black is survived by a son, Philip Black and his wife Beth of Jasper, GA; three grandchildren, Emma, Addison and Colby Black of Jasper; two sisters, Nina Brumlow and her husband Tommy of Calhoun, and Brenda Brown and her husband Walt of Acworth, GA; a brother, Freddie Black and his wife Kay of Calhoun, GA; three special Aunts, Janie McEntyre, Jean Chadwick and Carrie Kardash; and a special cousin, Fred Tillerson and his wife Betty. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Eddie Black will be held Sunday, December 7th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Phillips and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Mitchell Brumlow, Chad Brumlow, Stacey Parker, Dustin Smith, Kacee Black and Kevin Black.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday between the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm.
Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of directing the funeral services for Mr. William (Eddie) Black, of Calhoun.
