Obituary

Mr. James Edward (Eddie) Patton, 63 of Calhoun, died Wednesday evening at Advent-Gordon of complications from cancer.
Eddie was born in Whitfield County, GA on February 23, 1957, son of Dorothy Jones Patton and the late James Henry Patton. He was employed with Southern Chemical & Textiles of Dalton. He enjoyed his work and spending time on the farm working with his family whom he loved dearly. He was looking forward to seeing his first great-grandchild, Lainee Ivey who is due to be born in October.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Davis Patton to whom he was married for 40 years, daughter and son-in-law; Holli and Stan Nix, Son, Jason Richmond, son and daughter-in-law; Cory and Samantha Patton, one brother and sister-in-law; Tony and Connie Patton, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Patricia and Calvin Silvers, Sheila and Gerald Jones, Lamar and Patricia Thomas, Darlene and Mike Bearden, Diane and Larry Wheeler, grandchildren; Macaela and Zachary Ivey, Haydn Townsend, Jake Townsend, Aislynn Richmond, Vividise Richmond and Raiden Patton.
A service to remember and celebrate the life of Eddie Patton will be held Sunday, June 7, 2020, at 12:00 noon from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home. The service may be viewed live on "Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home" Facebook page. The family will receive friends on Sunday between the hours of 10:00 AM and the service hour of 12:00 Noon. Mr. Patton chose to be cremated. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be practiced. The family request that flowers be omitted and contributions made to the charity of your choice.
