Edmond Kenneth Padgett

Edmond Kenneth Padgett, 81, of Adairsville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024. He was born on October 19, 1943, to the late Henry Ford Padgett and Bertie Naomi Stell Padgett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Lamar Padgett; brother, Joseph Freeman Padgett; sisters, Shirley Mae Padgett McDougal and Helen Diane Padgett Wiggins.

Mr. Padgett was born in Fulton County, Georgia, and attended West Fulton High School. Before retirement, he worked at Lockheed Martin Aircraft in Marietta, Georgia, American Rug in Sugar Valley, Georgia, and Mohawk Industries in Calhoun. He was a faithful member of South Calhoun Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Jane Sutton Padgett, to whom he was married 62 years; children, Karen (Chris) Connell and Brian (Amy) Padgett; grandchildren, Ashley (Jake) Fowler, Chandler (Riley) Padgett and Connor Padgett (Laura Boatwright), Hannah Carleigh Connell, Heather Caleigh Connell; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Wyatt Fowler, and Sadie Jane Padgett; and siblings, Gene (Thelma) Padgett and Clara (Eddie) Shope. Many nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Padgett will be conducted on Saturday, December 14th, at 2:00 PM from South Calhoun Baptist Church, with Rev. Jason Pace and Rev. Jim Gable officiating. The family will arrange music. Burial will be in Gordon Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Clifford Free officiating. Pallbearers serving will include Ryan Luckett, Jake Fowler, Dean Adams, Mike Johnson, Alan Martin, and Randy Balliew.

The family will receive friends at South Calhoun Baptist Church on Saturday, December 14th, from noon until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM.
