Mrs. Edna Duff Thompson age 72 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday August 21, 2007 at Gordon Hospital. She was born in Fairfield, Virginia on January 20, 1935 daughter of the late Jerry and Martha Hartless Duff. She retired as a remittance clerk at Bell Atlantic and attended Boone Ford Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin Leroy Thompson Sr. One daughter; Bonnie Thompson; two brothers; Charles and Daniel Duff; one half-sister and one half-brother also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons; Franklin Leroy Thompson Jr. and his wife Patsy of Maryland, and Charles Thompson of Calhoun; four daughters; Elaine Thompson, Kathy Howard and her husband Larry, Sharon Davis and her husband Shawn all of Calhoun and Karen Milio and her husband Steve of Pennsylvania. Twenty grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two sister-in-laws; Maxine Duff of Virginia and Virgie Gover of Maryland, special friends; Mitch Shipman and the Fields Family, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Edna Duff Thompson will be conducted Friday August 24, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the chapel of the Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Quarles officiating. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m. Following the service; at the request of the family the body will be cremated.
