Edna Parker Causby

Mrs. Edna Parker Causby, age 85 of Calhoun, died Monday, October 14, 2013 at Gordon Hospital. She was born in Gordon County on July 19, 1928, daughter of the late Henry Edward and Bonnie Jo Reece Parker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Richard Causby on December 31, 2003; two brothers, Bobby Parker in 2011, and James Eddie Parker in 1953; a nephew, David Parker in 2009; and a great-niece, Brandy May in 2012.

Mrs. Causby was a 1947 graduate of Resaca High School, and received her LPN nursing degree from Battey State Hospital in 1954. She was employed with Cherokee Nursing Home, which later became Calhoun Health Care, from 1961 until 2002.

Survivors include four nieces, Rhonda Massingill, Denise Glass, Kyle Silvers, and Cindy Knowles, all of Calhoun; a nephew, Keith Parker of Calhoun; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Parker Causby will be held Friday, October 18th at 1:00 PM from Damascus Baptist Church, where she became a member in 1944. Officiating will be Rev. Clifford Free, with Rev. Kenny Sheriff conducting the committal service. Music will be arranged by Linda Fletcher. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Deacons of Damascus Baptist Church and family relatives.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday, October 17th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
