Obituary
Edward Carl Brock, 66, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
Eddie was born on November 30, 1955, in Kingsland, England, to Evelyn (Brown) and John Brock. Eddie was a member of Calhoun High Schools graduating class of 1973. While in high school, Eddie was a member of the Yellow Jacket Football team. He was a trooper for the Georgia State Patrol.
Eddie enjoyed bass fishing and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan.
Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Brown Brock; his father, John Lawrence Brock Sr.; and his sister, Linda Brock Campbell.
He is survived by his son, Steve Brock, of Dalton, Georgia and a daughter, Kathryn (Billy Joe) Nelson, of Hinesville, Georgia. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Hunter, Brooks, and Brady Brock of Dalton, Jennings, Beau, and Julia Laine Nelson of Hinesville; his brother, Larry Brock; his sister, Diana (Rick) Gilbert; and brother-in-law, Paul Campbell. Several nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive.
Visitation with the family will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow at 4:00 PM on Saturday with Rev. Clifford Free officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Weaver, Herman Scoggins, Lester Rampy, Marc Godby, Freddie Hailey, Kenneth Prather, Robert Bullard, Jerry Wayne Coffman, Billy Pledger, and all the troopers Eddie served with.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Edward Carl Brock.
