Edward Juliano

Mr. Edward S. Juliano, age 74 of Calhoun, died peacefully at his residence Sunday, May 1, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Juliano was born in New Haven, Connecticut on February 27, 1937. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having been inducted in 1954 and honorably discharged in 1957. During his tenure in the military he served during the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement he was a painter and was employed by the Gordon County Board of Education in the school maintenance department. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ruth Rickett Juliano to whom he was married for 34 years; a daughter, Charlotte Steinert and her husband Ray of Alvaton, KY; two step-daughters, Gina West and her husband Mitchell of Calhoun, and Vickie Burns and her husband Brad of Dalton; two step-sons, Jimmy Fox and his wife Susan of Calhoun, and Randall Fox of Calhoun; and a sister, Lorraine Traiano and her husband John of Wallingford, CT. Grandchildren surviving are Ashley, Zachary, Ben and Jacob Baker, Layson and Leigha West, Christen Burns, Brandon Phillips, Scott and Christie Fox, Heather and Stuart Balliew, Carla Fox, and Dena and Dale Pullen. Great-grandchildren are Ryley and Brody Balliew, Madeline and Claire Fox, and Gunnar, Bailee and Marlee Pullen. A host of other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Edward Juliano will be conducted Tuesday, May 3rd at 11:00 AM from Heritage Baptist Church, with Pastor Brent Davis officiating. Music will be arranged by the church choir and Mr. Ron Free. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving include Scott Fox, Brandon Phillips, Layson West, Stuart Balliew, Dale Pullen and Zack Baker. Honorary pallbearers include Erwin Williams, Clyde McEntyre, Emory McEntyre, Michael McEntyre, Jack McEntyre, Richard Cooper, and L.C. Grogan.

The family of Edward Juliano will receive friends Monday between the hours of 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Heritage Baptist Church, and at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday until moving to the church at 10:00 AM to lie in state one hour preceding the funeral service at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mr. Juliano's name to Heritage Baptist Church.
