Edward Russell

Mr. Thomas "Edward" Russell, 72 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at his home. He was born in Bartow County, GA on March 31, 1945, son of the late G.C. Russell, Jr., and the late Carolyn McDaniel Russell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Russell.
Edward was a veteran, serving his country in the United States Marines. He had retired from Roadway Express after 20 plus years, and afterward was employed with RRR Transport. He was an avid baseball fan, and loved watching western classics. He enjoyed mowing and working on the farm on the tractor.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Anita Sue Garber Russell; his daughter and son-in-law, Caitlin and Jeffrey Forman; his sister, Laurel Russell Clark; a granddaughter, Sara Carolyn Forman; a nephew, Monte Clark; a niece, Dia Johnson; and his grand animals, Maddie, Ralph, and Rick. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Services to honor the life of Mr. Thomas "Edward" Russell will be held Monday, June 19th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers serving will include Kiko Cuaresma, Monte Clark, Paul Clark, Sam Bright, Steve McDaniel, Ryan Wilson, Gary Murley, and Gary Waters. Honorary pallbearers are Mitchell Dixon, Bobby Reeves, Billy Reeves, Yancey Wilson, Gary Moore, Jim Banks, Shane Hall, RRR Transport employees, and Roadway Express retirees.
The Russell family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 18th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
