Mr. C. Elbert "Parker" Parker, age 76 of Calhoun, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Gordon Health Care. He was born in Elmore County, Alabama on December 20, 1937, son of the late C.E. and Rosalee Autry Parker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Burdette in 2011, and a brother, Mack Parker.

Mr. Parker was employed with Standard Roofing Company for 57 years and on the payroll for 59 years.

He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Nellie Burdette Daniel Parker; brothers, William Parker and his wife Sue of Alabama, George Parker of Boston, Maine, and Rodney Parker of Wetumpka, Alabama; sisters, Margrett Stroud of Montgomery, Alabama, and Louise Mott of Hawaii; grandchildren, Amber Morris Childers of Calhoun, and Blake Harper; and a great-grandchild, Alanna Childers. Other survivors include nieces and nephews, and his friends and bosses, Robinson and Pete Taylor of Standard Roofing Company of Montgomery, Alabama.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. C. Elbert "Parker" Parker will be held Monday, December 1st at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will include Tommy Phillips, Jimmy Anderson, Danny Wilson, Jessie Fisher, Jessie Smith, and Tim Wells. Honorary pallbearers are James Carlton, Perry Beard, Doug Ralston, and Howard Ralston.

The Parker family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, November 30th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 922 E. Morris Street, Dalton, GA 30721.
