Obituary

Emma Groomes Young, 80, of Resaca, GA died Thursday, November 5, 2020. She was born on August 30, 1940 in Clarkwell, Alabama to the late Mathis and Essie Mae Bones Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Groomes Sr and her second husband James Young, sons, Charlie Joe Groomes, Jr. and Kenneth Anthony Groomes, brothers, Coker Lee and Roland Lee. A brother in law, Bobby Ray also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law; Renee and Jimmy Holder, Becky and Jimmy Dean, and Elaine Bunch. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild also survive. A sister, Alice Ray as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The service will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 3:00 PM from the graveside of Chandler Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
