Mr. Emmett Bradley, age 87 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in LaGrange, Georgia on May 15, 1923, son of the late Albert and Lucy McCullough Bradley.
Mr. Bradley was retired from Lockheed-Martin, and was a member of the Crane Eater Community Church. He was a veteran, having served his country during WWII in the United States Navy.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Lula Grace Noles Bradley in 1991; a brother, J.C. Bradley; and a sister, Frances Bradley Burnham.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Wallace and Kathy Bradley of Macon; two daughters, Linda Logan and her husband Steve, and Mary Ann Peacock, both of Calhoun; and a brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Jeannette Bradley of Moreland. Grandchildren surviving are Melissa Davis of Sugar Valley, and Terrence Lee Bradley, Sabrina Avery, and J.J. Peacock, all of Calhoun; great-grandchildren, Brooke Walden, Michael Blake, Tori Avery, Logan Avery, and Kevin Avery, all of Calhoun; and a great-great grandson, Brently Walden. Other survivors include nephews, Raymond Smith and his wife Martha of Pensacola, Florida, David, Mike, and Edward Bradley of Moreland, and Ed Holliday and his wife Betty of New Jersey; a great nephew, Jeff Holliday and his wife Sue of Pennsylvania; a great niece, Cindy Smith; and a great-great nephew, Gunner Smith. Other nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Emmett Bradley will be conducted Friday, June 4th at 1:00pm from the Crane Eater Community Church, with Pastor Howard Strickland officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will include Ray Redings, Edward Bradley, Mike Bradley, David Bradley, Jimmie Avery, Jr., Ricky Coggins, Terry Hall, and Brad Hall. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home Friday at 12:00 noon. Honorary pallbearers are Samantha Ross, Rose Locklear, Diane Childers, Linda Bomar, Lana McCracken, Barbi Rankin, Michelle Fox, and Angela Bomar. Music will be arranged by Donna Gay.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday from 2:00pm until 9:00pm.
