Emmett Dupree

Mr. Emmett Roberson Dupree, age 81 of Calhoun, passed away Sunday January 7, 2007 at Hamilton Medical Center.

Mr. Dupree was born in Kennesaw, Georgia on March 2, 1925, son of the late Alvie and Effie Roberson Dupree. He was a textile mechanic, well known building contractor, and was owner and operater of the Men's Den Retail Stores in the North Georgia area for over thirty-five years. Mr. Dupree was a charter member of the Calhoun Community Church. He was a well decorated Silver Star Veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Paul, Silas, Alfred and Ernest Dupree, and by two sisters; Mae Floyd and Mattie Taft.

Survivors include his wife, Esther Colston Dupree of Calhoun; a daughter, Belva Swably and her husband Steve of Calhoun, a son, Ronald Dupree of Athens, Georgia; a grandson, Ryan Swably and his fiancA
