Mr. Emory Randolph Simmons, age 79 of Tunnel Hill, GA passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Hospice of Chattanooga following several years declining health. He was born in Thomasville, GA on March 23, 1934, son of the late Walter Kinchen Simmons and the late Sarah Ann Kinsey Simmons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Nell Simmons; two brothers, Ernest Simmons and Joe Simmons; and a grandchild, Jeremy Woodard-Fountain.
He leaves behind his children, Duane and Nicole Simmons of Tunnel Hill, Joel and Heathea Simmons of Lakeland, FL, Stephen and Faye Simmons of Moss Point, MS, Philip Simmons of Auburndale, FL, and Sarah and Clifford Fountain of Lake City, FL; a brother, Robert Simmons of Kenansville, FL; and a sister, Evangeline Andrews of Winter Haven, FL. Grandchildren surviving are Felicia Fox, Stephen Simmons, Timothy Fountain, Noel Simmons, Jordan Simmons, Noah Simmons, Jonah Simmons, and Gabrielle Simmons. Four great-grandchildren and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Emory Randolph Simmons will be held Thursday, November 14th at 7:00 PM from the Calhoun Full Gospel Fellowship Church of Jesus Christ, with Pastor Hershel Pierce, Bro. Craig Hannaford, and Bro. Terry Arnold officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lakeland, FL on Saturday, November 16th. Active pallbearers will include Michael Griffis, Richard Gifford, Mark Griffis, Logan Bridges, and Timothy Fountain.
The Simmons family will receive friends at the Calhoun Full Gospel Fellowship Church of Jesus Christ Thursday from 5:00 PM until the service hour of 7:00 PM.
