Era Inez Mathis Graham Langston

Mrs. Era Inez Mathis Graham Langston, age 94 of Calhoun, died Monday, February 20, 2017 at Gordon Health Care. She was born in Polk County, GA on June 7, 1922, daughter of the late Jess and Lassie Mathis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 1990 by her first husband of 55 years, Hershel "Pop" Graham; her second husband, James Langston; a sister, Jessie McGee; and a brother, Wilmer Mathis.
Mrs. Langston had spent the greater part of her life in Calhoun. She was always the caregiver of family members during their sicknesses. She was retired from Shaw Industries.
Survivors include her children, Charles Graham, Joyce Langston, Bobby Graham, Jerry Graham, and Linda Silvers, all of Calhoun, and Kyle Graham of Lindale; her sisters, Helen Carroll of Calhoun, Ruth Preston of Anniston, AL, Nelly Weyerman of Michigan, and Dot Mathis of Atlanta; and her brother, Winfred Mathis of Birmingham, AL. Twenty grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren also survive.
Services to honor the life of Mrs. Era Inez Mathis Graham Langston will be held Wednesday, February 22nd at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Winfred Mathis and Tom Morrison officiating. Interment will follow in Aragon Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 10:00 AM until the service hour of 1:00 PM.
