Obituary

Eric Jason Young, 39, of Resaca, died Monday, July 23, 2018 at his home. He was born in Floyd County on September 15, 1978. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Onice Young, grandmother, Annie Mae Young, and uncles, Randall Young and Stanley Young.
Eric is survived by his parents, Darrel and Janice Sutherland; his sister and brother-in-law, Tamera and Keith Ray; half-brother, Jeff Young; half-sister, Lori Young; nephews, Maison Ray and Kaleb Ray; aunt and uncle, Linda and Robert Bartenfield; and cousins, Chuck Bartenfield, Brian Young, Jonathan Young, and Jami Young.
Services to honor the life of Eric Jason Young will be held Wednesday, July 25th at 2:00 PM from New Town Baptist Church, where he was a member. Rev. Walter Hare and Matt Hibberts will officiate. Music will be arranged by Jeff Rogers. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving are Brian Queen, Jr., Mike Dooley, Matt Holder, Dillon McFry, Brent Plunkett, and Jeff Dixon.
The family will receive friends at New Town Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 24th, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the New Town Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 216, Calhoun, GA 30703.
