Erin Louise Young

Mrs. Erin Louise Young, age 94 of Plainville, passed away February 11, 2008 at Gordon Health Care. She was born in Floyd County on May 26, 1913, daughter of the late Noah and Mary Jane McEntyre Higgins. Mrs. Young was a homemaker during her lifetime, and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Plainville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Wilson Young; two sons, Dale Young in 2004, and Doyal Young in 2006; and grandchildren, Robin Young, David Young, and Shelia Wilson.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Clyde and Gail Young of Plainville; two daughters and sons-in-law; Glenda and Eddie Wilson, and Inez and W.V. Worley, both of Plainville; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Erin Louise Young will conducted Thursday, February 14 at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Webster, Dr. Stephen Pearson and Rev. Marvin Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Active pallbearers serving will include Roger Wilson, Ronnie Thomas, Eric Young, Mike Young, Doyal Young, Jr., Ranal Young, and Terry Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will include Hillard Higgins, Wyman Autry, Dustin Young, Tyler Darnell, L.C. Cook, Billy Thomas, Bill Franklin, John Jackson, and Rev. Gene Clark. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Thursday at 10:30am. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday after 4:00pm.
