Erline Carter Cochran

Mrs. Erline Carter Cochran, age 90 of Calhoun, GA passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 following several months of declining health. She was born in York County, SC on January 2, 1924, daughter of the late Edward Carter, Sr. and Ethel Hoffman Carter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1999, James Clifford Cochran; and a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Edith Carter, Jr.

Mrs. Cochran was Secretary and Treasurer for Southern Bearings & Parts Company of Atlanta for 45 years. She loved to read her Bible and loved cooking and working in many areas in her church in Fayetteville, and later at Salem Baptist Church in Calhoun, where she was a member. She was known for getting any job done quickly in whatever she did.

She leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Ron Reagin of Calhoun; five sisters, Evelyn C. Matthews, Carolyn C. Thomas, Martha C. Miller, Mary Anne C. Boyd, and Irene C. Plyler, all of Rock Hill and York, SC; and two grandchildren, Lydia (Aaron) Reagin Farmer of San Antonio, TX, and Leanne Reagin of Calhoun.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Erline Carter Cochran will be held Tuesday, May 13th at 11:00 AM from Salem Baptist Church, with Dr. William Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30 PM in Camp Memorial Gardens, 1095 Hwy 54E, Fayetteville, GA 30214, with Rev. Lynn McClain conducting the committal service.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 12th at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home in Calhoun from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The family will also receive friends Tuesday, May 13th from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Mowell Funeral Home, 180 Jeff Davis Drive, Fayetteville, GA 30214.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Erlines memory to the Alzheimers Association, North Georgia Regional Office, 922 East Morris Street, Dalton, GA 30721.
