Obituary

Mrs. Essie Ann Hall Holsomback, 85, a long-time resident of the Farmville community, died Friday, June 26, 2020, at Calhoun Health Care.
Mrs. Holsomback was born in Gordon County, GA on August 22, 1934, daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison Hall and Belle Stewart Hall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dwight Holsomback in 1988, four sisters; Frances Hall Davis, Mary Hall Thomas, Inez Hall Bramlett, and Ione Hall, three brothers; Don Hall, Jack Hall, and Howard Hall.
Mrs. Holsomback, along with her husband, Gene, owned and operated Holsomback Grocery in the Farmville Community for 28 years, she was a member of the 1951 graduating class of Sonoraville High School and attended Berry College.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Holsomback to whom she was married for 62 years, granddaughter, Leslie Holsomback and daughter-in-law, Wilma Holsomback, brother, Lee Hall, sister-in-law, Jewel Hall and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Monday, June 29th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Hibberts and Rev. Tim Beard officiating. Music will be arranged by Janice Steelman, interment will follow in Sugar Valley Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include; Kevin Holsomback, Travis Holsomback, Toby Holsomback, Dale Hall, Shane Hall, and Randy McDaniel. Honorary pallbearers serving are Lane Erwin, Larry Jones, Brent McDaniel, Doug McDaniel, Phillip McDaniel, and Lewis Stanley.
The family of Essie Hall Holsomback will receive friends on Sunday, June 28th at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home between the hours of 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, everyone that chooses to attend the visitation and/or funeral service to consider their safety and the safety of others, and practice social distancing. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of your choice in her memory. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Calhoun Health Care, Tapestry Hospice, and Assured Hospice for their love and compassionate care.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the Holsomback family.
