Ester Mae Henson Howington, 93, of Harrison, Tennessee died on Thursday, April 13, 2023. She was born on May 19, 1929, in Gordon County to the late Dewey and Delia Jenkins Henson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wenfred Howington; son, Terry Howington; brothers, Herbert Henson and D.L. Henson; sister-in-law, Bobbie Henson
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve (Kathy) Howington of Rossville, GA and daughter and son-in-law, Connie (Rick) Wheat of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Larry Howington of FL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy (Judy) Henson, James (Joan) Henson, Harvey Henson, and Dale Henson all of Calhoun; sisters and brother-in-law, Rachel Goble, Kay (Larry) Quinn of Calhoun, and Shirley Howington of Colorado; grandchildren, Brandy (Josh) Hood, Andy (Sandra) Howington, Kimberly (Forrest) Holz, Caitlyn (Eric) Hawkins, Bobbie Jo Niaky, Jennifer Finney, and Larry D. Howington; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be conducted on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 3:00 pm, from Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. DaRon Henson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Andy Howington, Josh Hood, Jacob Hood, Jaxson Lowrance, Colt Howington, Eric Hawkins, and Forrest Holz.
The family would like to thank the employees at The Health Center at Standifer Place that helped take care of her for the last 12 years and Hospice of Chattanooga.
