Obituary

Esther Leona Gowens Smith, 85, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020 with her family at her bedside. She was born on November 30, 1934 to the late EB Gowens and Hattie Kelly. Gowens.
She was married to Clayton Smith who preceded her in death September 1, 2016. She was also preceded in death by a step-mother; Essie Martin Gowens who raised her, daughter; Myra Jean Smith. Sister; Rachel Nicholson and four brothers; Ellis, JC, Herman, and Dewey Gowens.
Esther is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda (Tony) Tumlin and Janice (James) Walraven; son; Wayne Smith; grandchildren; Christie McDougal, Joshua Smith, Casey Tumlin, Jacob Walraven, Joshua Walravenand Patrick McGuire along with several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service will be Monday, November 9, 2020 at 1:00 PM from the graveside of Chandler Cemetery. The family will have a private visitation.
