Ethel Lucille (Davenport) Welch, 95, of Calhoun, Georgia died Thursday, June 10, 2021. She was born on August 10, 1925 in Ellijay, Georgia to the late Joe and Nettie Gibson Davenport. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest "Buck" Welch; son, Ernie Welch; brothers, JB Davenport, Kenneth Davenport, and Wenfred Davenport; sisters, Lila Davis and Vinice Dixon; great grandson, Zach Gustinger.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lisa Welch; daughter, Joyce Garrard Gibbs; grandchildren, Sherry (Jeff) Gibbs Martin of Woodstock, GA, Donna (Kurt) Gibbs Gustinger of Miami Shores FL, Cheryl (Rich) Gibbs Domanic of Boca Raton, FL, Christa Gibbs Kolb of Dunwoody, GA, Riki Welch, Dusty Welch, and Trevor Welch all of Calhoun, GA; great grandchildren, Cameron Garrison, Christopher Garrison, Mason Dockery, Mara Kolb, Sydney Gustinger, Ryley Gustinger, Sophie Welch, and Michah Porch; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 12, 2021, from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation 4:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons. Pallbearers are, Dusty Welch, Trevor Welch, Cameron Garrison, Chris Garrison, Mason Dockery, Ryley Gustinger, and Michah Porch.
In lieu of flowers the family requested donations to at National Suicide Prevention Foundation.
