Eugene Alfred Hall

Mr. Eugene Alfred Hall, age 72 of Calhoun, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 4, 2010 following an extended illness. He was born in Gordon County on May 29, 1936, son of the late Charlie and Pallie Melinda Hall. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Shirley Temple Hall, Titsabee Hall, and Betty Crawford; and a brother, Martin Hall, all of Calhoun.

Mr. Hall spent his occupational life as a Plant Manager in the textile industry, retiring from Atlantic Carpets in 1992. After retiring, he found his simple pleasures and love for life in gardening, golf, helping others in need, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Joyce Hall; a daughter, Sophia H. Smith, all of Calhoun; five grandchildren, Jennifer McCarty of Oostanaula, Landon Hall, Johnathon Hall, Tucker Smith, and Sia Smith, all of Calhoun; two great-grandchildren, Blair McCarty of Oostanaula, and Adien Hall of Calhoun; and two brothers, Charles "Bull" Hall of Calhoun, and Roy Hall of Rosedale. Several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Eugene Alfred Hall will be conducted Saturday, February 6 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Norris Sexton officating. Interment will follow the service in the Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Billy Moore, Tommy Goodnite, Jeff Henderson, Tommy Sloan, Terry Brown, and Bobby Reed. Honorary pallbearers are Tolbert Gallman, Bobby Dixon, Jack Hamilton, and Waldo Sloan.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm, and Saturday at 12:00pm.
