Eugene Hoyle Wright

Mr. Eugene “Hoyle” Wright, 87, of Calhoun, Georgia, went to be with his Lord on Friday, February, 10, 2023.

Hoyle was born in Gordon County, Georgia on April 29, 1935, the son of the late, Burton and Mable Franklin Wright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, and his twin brother, Doyle Wright, James Burton Wright, and Roy Wright; three sisters, Ruth Samples, Estelle Shope and Beatrice Bowman; as well as two wives, Ethel Wright, and Barbara Wright whom he met and married at Gordon Health Care.

Hoyle was a well-known and well-loved resident of Gordon Health Care and has resided there since 1981. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and enjoyed traveling around to churches in North Georgia and North Alabama to sing at revivals. He loved people and was a blessing to all who knew him. He was a charter member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Survivors include one sister, Betty Knight; several nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews.

A service to celebrate Hoyle’s life will be conducted Monday, February 13th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Tim McCulley and Rev. Gary Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot at East View Cemetery near Adairsville. Pallbearers serving will include, Levi Bowman, Jesse Bowman, Chris Knight, Kevin Knight, Owen Knight and Paul White.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 13th at the funeral home between the hours of 11:00 AM until the funeral hour of 1:00 PM.
