Eugene Silvers

Mr. Eugene Silvers, age 65 of Resaca, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Gordon Hospital.

He was born on July 6, 1944 in Murray County, son of the late Arthur and Lula Priest Silvers. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dora Fountain Silvers; a son and daughter, four brothers, one sister, four half sisters, and two half brothers. During his lifetime he was employed in the textile industry, and a member of Boone Ford Baptist Church.

Mr. Silvers is survived by his wife, Mary Jean Thomas Silvers, to whom he was married for twenty years; two children, April Bright and Joy Posey, both of Resaca; and three sisters, Gertrude Radcliff of Resaca, Della Silvers of Ranger, and Vera Padgett of Oakman, Grandchildren, Chase Bright, Allison Bright and Megan Gamble, and nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Eugene Silvers will be conducted Monday evening at 8:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Quarles officiating. The family will receive friends Monday prior to the funeral service beginning at 3:30pm. Interment will be conducted on Tuesday at 10:00am, at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery near Jasper, Georgia.
