Euna Mcgaskey

Mrs. Euna Vee "Granny" McGaskey, age 83 of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010 at her residence. She was born on September 14, 1926 in Caney Creek, Tennessee, daughter of the late M.A. and Nena Jo Curd Mantooth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Felton McGaskey, and a son, Jimmy McGaskey. Mrs. McGaskey was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in the Sonoraville Community.

She is survived by two daughters, Lynda Stanley of Calhoun, and Mary Tolbert of Cana, Virginia; four sisters, Juanita Smith of Knoxville, Tennessee, Marie Gray of Glen Burnie, Maryland, JoAnn Owens of Baltimore, Maryland, and Catherine Hester of Seven Valley, Pennsylvania; a special brother-in-law, Earl Smith of Knoxville, Tennessee; and a special son-law, J.R. Stanley of Calhoun; grandchildren, Nena Stanley, Vickie Scogin, Richard and Trent Tolbert, Mandy and Brandy McGaskey, and Athena Tillely; and great-grandchildren, Angela Durham, Sierra Langford, Lauren Brown, Grayson Tilley, Dakota Hicks and Jaymee White. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Euna Vee "Granny" McGaskey will be conducted Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon and Rev. Jacky Waits officiating. Music will be arranged by Rejoicing Hearts. Active pallbearers will include David Ward, Ricky Mantooth, David Mitchell, Donald Mitchell, Randy Meyers, Dallas Holcomb, Dennis Miller and Tom Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Atnas Pate, Tony Evans, Billy Erwin, Billy Kay, Julian Holcomb and Herman Roark. Interment will follow the service at the Morning View Cemetery in Rome. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Monday from 3:00pm until 9:00pm.
