Mrs. Eunice "Maxine" Whitehair age 76 of the Ryo Community in Fairmount passed away Friday December 15, 2006 at her residence. She was born in Heard County, Georgia on June 20, 1930 daughter of the late William Byron Brown and the late Eunice Lucille Toney.
She was preceded in death by her husband Darrell Clay Whitehair and by one brother Larry Brown.
Survivors include one son; Byron Wood of Calhoun and two daughters Portia Hargraves of Hudson, New Hampshire and Brenda McGaskey of Fairmount, GA. Five brothers; Lawrence Brown of Nelson, GA., Carlis Brown of Five Points, Alabama, Waymond Brown of White, GA., Gary Brown of Cartersville, GA and Linwood Brown of Highland, IL. Three sisters; Jeanette Echliman of Cartersville, GA., Ellen Bryan of Cartersville, GA., and Patricia Jordan of Kingston, GA. Fourteen grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Eunice "Maxine" Whitehair will be conducted Monday at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Drew Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Mitchell Hargraves, Michael James, Barry James, Patrick James, Brandon Wood, Leamon Smith, Jonathan Mathews and Donald Bridges. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 until 9:00p.m.
