Obituary
Eva Parker, 93, of the Erwin Hill community, passed away at her home on Saturday, January 16, 2021.
Eva was born in Calhoun on September 17, 1927; she was the daughter of the late William Jackson Bradley and Nettie Elizabeth Cook Bradley. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. R. Parker; her grandchildren, Gary Robert Parker, Stephen Parker, and Melissa Pinyan; sisters, Bessie Petty and Mildred "Millie" Manning; her brother, Dennis Bradley. Eva was a woman of many talents. She stayed busy making quilts, crocheting, doing embroidery and sewing; these tasks were easy for her. She loved to cook, especially the epic Sunday dinners that she made for her family. For many years, she worked in textiles. Eva was a member of Erwin Hill Church of God.
Eva is survived by her children and their spouses, Bobby and Marilyn Parker, Billy and Patsy Parker, Johnny and Iris Parker, Shirley Parker, Willard and Marcia Parker, and Wayne and Sharon Parker; brothers, Zeb (Marcelle) Bradley, Louie (Janet) Bradley; nineteen grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great grandchildren; other relatives and many family friends.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Tapestry Hospice and to her caregivers, Janie Massingill, Martha Ray, and Glenita Seagraves. The Parker family requests that donations be made to The American Cancer Society, cancer.org, in memory of Melissa Pinyan or to the MS Foundation, msfocus.org, in honor of Rebecca Lee.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 18, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. from Trinity Baptist Church, with Dr. James Shope officiating. Her body will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from Noon until 1 PM. Burial will follow at Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers include Jaron Gilbert, Michael David Parker, Kevin Parker, Parker McBurnett, Eric Dale, and Richie Parker.
