Evelyn Irene Anderson

Mrs. Evelyn Irene Anderson, age 82 of Dalton, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Hamilton Medical Center following four months of illness.

Mrs. Anderson was born on January 7, 1929 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Luther Forrest Duvall and Grace Goss Duvall. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest B. Anderson, to whom she had been married for 48 years; a sister, Estelle Bryant; and a brother, Forrest Duvall.

Evelyn was very talented. She loved to sing hymns, write poetry and stories, and was an accomplished artist. She loved to paint all during her life. She was devoted to her family and put her love for them ahead of her professional career. Prior to her retirement she worked as a Lab Technician for the Anderson Company. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a son, Gary Ernest Anderson; and a daughter, Janice Anderson, both of Rocky Face; a sister, Betty Worley of Sugar Valley; a grandchild, Ketrena Anderson of Rocky Face; and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Irene Anderson will be conducted Friday, December 2, 2011 at 3:00 pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Fain Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
