Evelyn Ruth Leonard

Ms. Evelyn Ruth Leonard, age 86 of Calhoun, passed away Monday, August 31, 2009 at Calhoun Health Care following an extended illness. She was born in Cherokee County, GA on August 6, 1923, daughter of the late Benjamin and Lucille Clayton Leonard. During her lifetime, she was a homemaker, and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Leonard was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mavis Fortenberry and Elizabeth Burchett; and by brothers, Jess Leonard, G.W. Leonard, Bradford Leonard, Roy Leonard, and John Leonard.

Survivors include a brother, Gene Leonard of Calhoun; a sister, Flaura Mae Hale of Fairmount; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ms. Evelyn Ruth Leonard will be conducted Wednesday, September 2 at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Donnie Summey officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 9:00am until the funeral hour.
