Obituary

Faye Simmons, 78, of Calhoun died Friday, January 11, 2019 at her home after an extended illness. Faye was born in Gadsden, Alabama on September 16, 1940; daughter of the late Van Glaze and Ethel Moore Glaze. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, George Glaze and Randall Glaze; and a beloved brother-in-law, B.C. Rittenhouse.
Faye was employed for the Georgia Forestry Commission for 28 years. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending time with her family; which include her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her beloved pets, especially her Moe Moe.
Faye is survived by her husband of 50 years, Clyde Simmons; her sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Robin Simmons, Toby and Marsha Simmons, and Wayne and Leslie Chasteen; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Ricky Luffman, Judy and Albert Lofty, and Kelly Simmons; a sister, Louise Rittenhouse; grandchildren, Albert Lofty Jr., Stephanie Arnel, Savannah, Jason Chasteen, Jennifer Brock, Becky Bryson, and RoxAnn Bennett; and several great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, January 14th at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. William Daniel will officiate. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers serving are Clifford Daniel, Ricky Luffman Jr., Ronnie Rittenhouse, and Chris Rittenhouse.
The Simmons family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 13th after 4:00 p.m.
